Lately when thinking about my cosplay list for next year I realised that my wish list costumes are getting pushed back further and further so I can commit to groups cosplays and more complicated costumes for Fataleknights.
This is not a bad thing at all for the record! I really look forward to cosplaying with friends the most <3 I only wish there was more time available so I could fit more costumes in -__-

It brings me to thinking about how many years I may have left to fit the wish list in.

Do you think there is a time limit within which you can cosplay? Do you think there is an age at which someone must retire from costuming? Do you think there is a place in a persons life to accommodate cosplay with work/personal life/serious biz for as long as they want to continue?

I've heard many people say 30 is an acceptable age to retire. Sure, 20's is a good decade to muck around with your life, have fun etc, then you get to 30 and it's time to settle down and get serious about life.
However some may argue that during your 20's you should or can build your life too.

A lot of people think I look young for my age, so I like to think that I could get away with cosplay for another good few years and possibly into my 30's. However, there are many people that a full fledged 'grown-ups' that cosplay too, and are entirely good at it!

I really wonder if I need to make time for a personal life though. I don't mean social either. I wouldn't mind meeting someone, although I have lived my life entirely independantly so far without much interest in having boyfriends. The problem is I spend all my extra time sewing or hanging out with friends (I do allow myself to have a social life) so where do I fit that in...

So I suppose the real question is, considering all things mentioned, do you believe there is an age at which one should retire from cosplay?
